Situated in the far north of the island of Westray, Noltland Castle is a short ten minute walk from the centre of Pierowall village. From the battlements you can see Pierowall harbour to the east and immediately to the north of the castle are the neolithic excavations at Grobust on the Links of Noltland, adjacent to the golf course. The building is under the care of Historic Environment Scotland and entry is free.
For more information we shall have an illustrated eBook on the history of Noltland Castle on sale from this web site in March 2018. The price will be £10 and can be pre-ordered HERE for £8.00.
